Cheeses

In our Market District® cheese department, you'll find professionally trained cheesemongers to help you select from more than 400 imported and domestic artisan cheeses hailing from the four corners of the globe. And not just your deliciously popular Cheddars and Provolones.

Exclusively at the Market District® Robinson, our cheesemongers make the mozzarella. They were just bringing it out when we got there. It was unbelievably milky and fresh — had to have some. We got that and Chèvre, then headed to the charcuterie for Pancetta and Pâté de Campagne. Some fresh ciabatta from the bakery and olives from the antipasti bar — life is good.

What makes a visit to our cheese department so inviting is the opportunity to explore cheeses you may never have tried — French Banon, Brillat Savarin or Comté; Italian Sovrano or Taleggio; Spanish Drunken Goat or Artequeso Manchego; or English Beemseter XO. This ever-growing cheese selection is handpicked by our cheese buyer, Patty Solomon, who travels far and wide in search of the world’s finest.

She also spends a great deal of time learning everything about cheese and finding expert resources so she can share knowledge with our cheesemongers and customers alike — like how to pair cheese and wine for instance:

Cheese & Wine Pairing

We think of only three things when pairing wine and cheese — texture, sweetness and flavor. But the final measure really is, does it taste good? This cheese and wine pairing guide can give you a good start in finding matches that suit your palate.
